The Florida Fair Housing Act (FFHA), like the Federal Fair Housing Act (FHA), provides that it is unlawful to discriminate in the rental of a dwelling to a renter with a handicap including discrimination by refusing “make reasonable accommodations in rules, policies, practices, or services, when such accommodations may be necessary to afford such person equal opportunity to use and enjoy a dwelling.” § 760.23(9)(b) Fla. Maybe another question to ask first is how your association management feels about early payments or carrying a surplus on the books for your unit.
